DU A Unit Admission: University-admitted candidates are all busy with their respective preparations. An important part of preparing for university admissions is knowing the basics of every university admission test. Because not all university admission test rules and subjects are the same. Again some universities have to prepare separately. That is why we are preparing the circular review of every university to speed up your admission preparation. Today we will discuss the details of the Dhaka University A unit.

Dhaka University A Unit admission will be held on 10th June 2022.

Dhaka University A Unit Admission Circular 

Faculty of Science, Biology, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Engineering and Technology and Statistical Research and Teaching Institute, Institute of Nutrition, and Institute of Information Technology and Institute under ‘A’ Unit of Dhaka University. The undergraduate (honors) program is 5 (five) years in the Faculty of Pharmacy and 4 (four) years in other faculties and institutes.

Minimum eligibility for application

Candidates must have passed Secondary or equivalent from 2018 to 2019 and higher secondary in the science / agricultural science branch or science branch of Madrasa Baird in 2021. Each of the secondary and higher secondary (or equivalent) exams must have a minimum GPA of at least 6.0, with a minimum of 3.5 GPS, including 4th subject.

Distribution of A unit admission test

2020-21: A unit admission test of Dhaka University for the academic year will be held in both MCQ and the written system. The total number of admission tests will be 100 out of which there will be an MCQ of 60 marks and a written part of 40 marks. The MCQ exam will be 45 minutes and the written exam will be 45 minutes.

 Standard distribution of multiple choice ( MCQ) exams

0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in the MCQ exam and it will be adjusted thematically. If a candidate answers the questions in 4 subjects, he/she will be able to get admission to any department / institute.

In the academic year 2019-2020, a total of 6,089 students participated in the A unit admission test and only 15.93% of students passed.

  • Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology at Higher Secondary or equivalent level
    will appear for the examination in all these subjects. However, if the examinee wishes, he/she can take the exam in any subject in either Bengali or English instead of only the 4th subject of higher secondary level. It is important to note that physics
    and chemistry must be tested.

  • Examiners who have studied at the A-Level level will complete four subjects in two subjects including Physics and Chemistry (Mathematics / Biology / Bengali / English ).

The total number in the written part is 40 and the time is 45 minutes. Total number 10 in each subject. The value of each question will be limited to 2 to 5.

Pass number of DU A unit admission test

Pass number 24 of the MCQ part of the admission test. Note that if you get 24 marks in the MCQ exam, only a written exam answer paper will be considered for evaluation. However, among the candidates who have passed the MCQ examination, the answer sheets of the written examination will be evaluated at least 5 times of the total seats of the ‘A’ unit. Pass number 12 in the written part examination. However, out of 100 marks, the total pass number of MCQ and written tests is 40. Those who get less than 40 marks will not be considered for admission.

Merit score and merit order

  •  The merit list will be prepared in the order of merit scores obtained by the candidates on the basis of the Mate 120 number. For this
    , GPAK obtained/calculated in secondary / o-level or equivalent examination is multiplied by 2; Multiplying the GPA obtained/calculated in Higher Secondary / A-Level or equivalent examination by 2, the result of these two will be added to the number obtained in 100 in the admission test and the merit score will be determined in order by determining the merit score within 120 marks.
  • If the merit score is equal then the merit order will be created in the following order:
  1. Scores obtained in the admission test
    1.  GPA obtained in HSC / equivalent examination without 4th subject
    2. GPA obtained in HSC / equivalent examination with 4 ″ Subject
    3. GPA obtained in SSC / equivalent examination without 4 ″ Subject
    4. GPA obtained in SSC / equivalent examination with 4 ″ Subject
    5. GPA results were obtained in four science subjects in HSC / equivalent examination.

Admission.eis.du.ac.bd will also be available on the admission website of Dhaka University within 4 (four) weeks after the merit list and the results of the candidates who have passed according to the merit score determined on the basis of merit score. You will also be able to know the results through SMS.
